MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - All the methods used in Russia to safeguard nuclear materials will be applied in the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak told the State Duma on Wednesday.
"Russia is not going to pass on the technology it is using in Bushehr to Iran," Kislyak said.
The nuclear fuel produced for the Bushehr nuclear power plant will be returned back to Russia after it is spent, he said.
The State Duma on Wednesday ratified the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material.
In presenting the ratification bill, Kislyak said that the ratification of the Amendment to the Convention would not have a negative effect on the completion of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
