United Arab Emirates-based Etihad Airways is likely to place an order for 50 to 100 Airbus and Boeing aircraft at the Farnborough International Air Show to be held between July 14, 2008 and July 20, 2008 in Britain, revealed media reports.

The airline is reportedly considering the inclusion of Airbus A350 and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner in its fleet.

Etihad, which was operating a fleet of 32 planes by the end of 2007, plans to increase its fleet to 42 by the end of 2008.

“Etihad Airways has said for a while that it will order in the summer between 50-100 aircraft which the airline will need to deliver its flying program up to 2020. The Farnborough Air Show is the perfect venue to make such an announcement,” Iain Burns, Etihad’s vice president of corporate communication, was quoted as saying.
