Alaska Airlines June Passenger Traffic Down

Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, has reported that its passenger traffic decreased 2% to 1.688 billion revenue passenger miles in June 2008 from 1.723 billion revenue passenger miles in June 2007.
The capacity measured in available seat miles (ASMs) increased 0.2% to 2.124 billion, compared to 2.119 billion in June 2007. The passenger load factor for the month of June 2008 was 79.5%, compared to 81.3% in June 2007. The airline has carried 1.54 million passengers, compared to 1.65 million passengers in June 2007.
Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, has reported that its traffic decreased 4.2% to 248.5 million revenue passenger miles from 259.4 million revenue passenger miles in June 2007. Capacity for June 2008 was 318.7 million ASMs, down 2.2%, compared to 325.9 million ASMs in June 2007.
The passenger load factor was 78%, compared to 79.6% in June 2007. The airline has carried 677,900 passengers, compared to 674,900 in June 2007.
