AirTran Airways Secures 119 City Pair Travel Contracts From GSA

AirTran Airways has been awarded 119 city pair contracts for federal employee travel for the fiscal year 2009 by the US General Services Administration. The contracts have an estimated value of more than $47 million, a nearly 30% increase over 2007.
In 2007, US General Services Administration (GSA) awarded AirTran Airways 118 city pairs for government travel for the 2008 fiscal year, worth approximately $36 million.
AirTran Airways markets awarded the highest number of city pairs by the GSA include: Atlanta at 43, Orlando at 14, Baltimore/Washington at 12, Ft Lauderdale at 10 and Tampa at nine.
