Why Ask for Donations?

With gas prices over $4, food prices climbing steadily due to a combination of weather and gas prices and mortgage defaults, now I receive a letter from Rocky Mountain Power asking me to volunteer a few bucks a month to develop renewable energy, solar panels for Hogle Zoo and donate to the National Outdoor Leadership School in Wyoming — whatever that is.
I thought that was what I was already doing with what I pay them each month. And do you think our costs are going to stay where they are when winter hits?
