Rushydro Chief to Be Appointed in Next 2 Wks – Minister
ASHGABAT. July 4 (Interfax) – The new head of Russian hydrogenerating company OJSC GidroOGK or RusHydro will be appointed in the next two weeks, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko told Interfax.
“Given the importance of this company to the power sector, we’re currently looking at candidates for this post, and I think the issue will be resolved in the next two weeks,” Shmatko said.
“Corporate procedures, as per the company’s charter, will take another 70 days, by the look of it,” he said.
Former RusHydro chief Vyacheslav Sinyugin left to work at the Energy Ministry.
Shmatko also said a new job for former Russian Energy Agency (Rosenergo) chief Dmitry Akhanov was being discussed.
“We’ve been in contact regarding this and I think a decision will be reached soon,” Shmatko said.
