Cleaner Coal Bid
FORMER miner and Tyneside MP Dave Anderson is all fired up about using of clean coal.
The Blaydon MP chaired a meeting in the Commons to promote clean coal, which is chemically washed of minerals and impurities and seeks to improve the efficiency and environmental acceptability of coal.
Mr Anderson said: “All energy sources need to play a role in driving our economy and reducing our contribution to climate change. That means more renewables, some nuclear as well as clean coal.
“At this meeting, we focused on clean coal and discussed how clean coal can help regenerate UK coalfield communities and boost our manufacturing base.”
