Airbus Superjumbo to Land at Popular UK Air Tattoo
THE world’s largest commercial passenger jet, the Airbus A380, will appear at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire.
The giant plane, the wings for which are made near Chester, will join more than 300 aircraft at the air show on July 12.
The A380, which seats 525 passengers in two, full-length, mid and upper passenger decks, is renowned for its low fuel burn, spaciousness and comfort.
The aircraft has flown regular scheduled services from Heathrow with Singapore Airlines since March this year, but its only other air show appearance in the UK prior to this one was at the tattoo in Farnborough in 2006.
Air Tattoo director Tim Prince said he was delighted the A380 was able to appear at the show.
