RadioShack DC Power Supplies Recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of RadioShack power supplies due to electrocution and fire hazards.
The 13.8V DC power supplies, imported by RadioShack Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, are wired incorrectly, a CPSC statement said. No injuries have been reported.
About 160,000 of the power supply units were sold from October 2004 through January 2008 for $50-$85.
The units, made in China, are listed with catalog numbers 22-507 and 22-508 with date codes 08A04 through 01A08. In the date codes, the number preceding the A indicates the month, while the number following the A indicates the year.
Consumers were advised to stop using the power supplies and return them to a RadioShack outlet for a free repair.
Consumers can call RadioShack at 800-843-7422 for information.
