Sun Country Airlines Ranked #4 in Travel+Leisure’s World’s Best Service Awards List of Top Ten Domestic Airlines

July 10, 2008

Sun Country Airlines announced today that it has been ranked fourth on the list of Top Ten Domestic Airlines in Travel+Leisure’s 2008 World’s Best Service Awards. The awards are based on a readers’ survey that ranks travel companies based on personal service and attention.

“I’m extremely proud of our employees and their dedication to providing a level of service uncommon in the airline industry today,” said Stan Gadek, CEO of Sun Country Airlines. “The attention to service by each and every employee is one of the things that sets Sun Country apart in the marketplace.”

Minnesota’s Hometown Airline, Sun Country, improved its standing year over year by advancing from the number seven position to number four and is joined by Virgin America, Midwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways. All domestic carriers – from large legacy airlines to small charter airlines – were eligible for the award.

Sun Country was also ranked in the top ten list of domestic airlines in Travel+Leisure’s 2007 World’s Best Awards, an award that takes cabin comfort, food, in-flight service, and value (in addition to service) into account. Conde Nast Traveler also ranked Sun Country as one of the best airlines in 2007.

Sun Country differentiates itself in the marketplace by offering highly personalized service with attractive low fares while providing convenient service out of the Humphrey Terminal. Despite industry trends, the Hometown Airline continues to offer free hot meals on a fleet of new Boeing 737′s.

“This award truly is a tribute to our employees and their collective commitment to serving our customers,” said Gadek. “I want to publicly thank them for their commitment to making this airline a success. As Sun Country grows, I am confident that these efforts will continue to be recognized by publications like Travel + Leisure.”

Sun Country Airlines is a low fare carrier based in St. Paul, MN. Sun Country, a company privately held by Petters Group Worldwide, demonstrates its dedication to consumers through first-class amenities on every flight. From online advance seat selection to leather seats, featuring Minnesota musicians to Minnesota food product, the Hometown Airline continues to provide great service for its customers.
