Rostekhnadzor Registers Irregularities in Npp Work Without Security Risk
MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) – Russian nuclear power plants (NPP) had some irregularities in their work in June, said Rostekhnadzor, the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision.
On June 24, at the third unit of the Beloyarsk NPP, Sverdlovsk region, the number of rotations of the main circulator decreased due to a failure of the contacting apparatus.
On the same day, faults in welded joints in the main tubes were detected.
The causes of the faults are being examined. There have been no violations of the safe exploitation of the NPP units. Radiation situation in the area of the nuclear power plans is normal, Rostekhnadzor said.
