Iran, Gazprom to Join Forces in Natural Gas Industry
MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) – Iran and Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) will join forces to organize the next meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller promised at a meeting in Tehran.
“Approving the world gas balance was named as one of the main tasks for the Forum. The need was stressed to further develop the Forum as a standing international organization,” Gazprom said in a press release posted on its website.
“The two sides exchanged opinions on the possibility of stepping up mutually beneficial long-term partnership between Gazprom and Iran,” the release said.
