Pacific Power Opens Washington Wind Facility

Pacific Power has opened its new 94-megawatt Goodnoe Hills wind- power facility near Goldendale, Wash.

The company now generates enough renewable energy to power 143,000 average customer homes for one year. The facility features 47 two-megawatt turbines with a rotor diameter of 303 feet. The Energy Trust of Oregon provided a $4.5 million grant to fund the project.

Five other Pacific Power wind energy projects will be completed by the end of the year in Wyoming, including the 99-megawatt Glenrock Wind Energy project; the 39-megawatt Glenrock II project; the 99-megawatt Rolling Hills project; the 99-megawatt Seven Mile Hill Wind Energy project; and the 19.5-megawatt Seven Mile II project.
