Air Canada Names New Executive Vice President and COO
Air Canada has named Bill Bredt as its new executive vice president and COO, effective August 11, 2008.
Mr Bredt will report directly to Montie Brewer, president and chief CEO, with responsibility for the airline’s flight operations, flight safety, in-flight service, system operations control and maintenance. Mr Bredt replaces Rob Reid who has recently retired from the company.
Mr Bredt returns to Air Canada where he began his career in 1973. He has previously held senior management positions at Air Canada in operations and marketing. He joined Jazz Air in August 2004 as senior vice president and COO.
Mr Brewer said: “I am very pleased to welcome Bill back to Air Canada to assume this key role in overseeing the airline’s operations. Bill’s wealth of airline experience and solid leadership skills will further strengthen our management team as we strive to move the airline forward in this challenging environment.”
