Indian power engineering company Bharat Heavy Electricals has received a contract award for two 42MW gas turbine generating units from United Arab Emirates-based International Energy Resources, for installation on mobile power plants.
These units will be mounted on barges for mobile power plants and are planned to be used in different locations.
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) said that, with the rapidly increasing need of power plants on a fast track basis, independent power plant developers are reportedly developing such merchant power plants that require short gestation and offer mobility.
This is the company's second contract from the UAE and comes close on the heels of a similar order for two gas turbine generating units, each with a 42MW capacity, received from Al Ghail Power, a company wholly owned by the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority.
