Hamilton Sundstrand, a manufacturer of aerospace systems and industrial products, has signed an on-site support agreement with Japan Airlines International, covering electric power system and pneumatic system products on the airline's fleet of 132 large commercial aircraft including Boeing 747-400s, 767s and 777s.
The 10-year program will begin in August 2008. Work will be performed at Japan Airlines International's (JAL) Narita maintenance facility in Japan.
Hamilton Sundstrand will supply parts to support JAL's maintenance of electric power system components including generators and integrated drive generators, and pneumatic system components including valves, starters and air cycle machines.
In addition, Hamilton Sundstrand will assign a dedicated on-site advisor to provide technical advice and recommendations about product operation, maintenance work scope and repair to JAL engineering and maintenance personnel.
Keita Sataka, vice president of engineering and maintenance at JAL, said: "We expect that this on-site support program with Hamilton Sundstrand will contribute to improved quality and safety for our maintenance activity."
