Shanghai Airlines has selected International Aero Engines’s V2500 unit to power its 10 Airbus A321s. The deal is worth more than $56 million to Pratt & Whitney if all options are exercised.

Shanghai Airlines is due to receive its first aircraft in July 2009. The V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings ranging from 22,000lbs to 33,000lbs to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft, as well as the A319 corporate jet.
