Hana Reports First Results at Zone 6 Located 95 Kilometers Northeast of Zone 2

Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: HMG)(FRANKFURT: 4LH) is pleased to report results from three new reverse circulation (RC) holes completed as part of its ongoing drilling program at its sediment-hosted Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana. All three of the holes, HA-01 to HA-03-R, were drilled at Zone 6 a distance of 95 kilometers Northeast of ongoing core drilling in Zone 2. Two of these holes intersected significant mineralization including intercept widths of 9.0 meters grading 1.5 %Cu within a broad zone of 21.0 meters grading 0.93 %Cu.
Company President Peter Wilson states, "We first stepped out 1.5 kilometers at Zone 1 with exceptional results (see press release of Feb. 7, 2008), and then stepped out 13 kilometres to Zone 2, which proved to be very successful with an intercept of 2.69 %Cu over 13.0 meters (press release of May 8, 2008). Now, our geologists have interpreted the same system in Zone 6, a distance of 95 kilometers from Zone 2 and once again, we received excellent results."
"Clearly, our success to date demonstrates the district-scale potential of the Ghanzi copper-silver belt. The copper system we have identified is spread over a strike length that is roughly the same as the distance between New York City and Philadelphia. That's truly enormous for a single system and it has been repeated by folding four times." Wilson states.
The attached maps show the scale of the system.(Refer to maps here: http://www.hanamining.com/i/pdf/GOOGLE-GHANZILICENSE.pdf www.hanamining.com/s/Ghanzi.asp?ReportID=303741).
Details of the results for the two new mineralized holes are as follows: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zone Hole Number From To Length Cu Ag m m m % g/t 6 HA-02-R 124 145 21 0.93 5.21 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 124 133 9 1.50 8.91 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6 HA-03-R 69 78 9 0.78 1.41 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 69 72 3 1.12 less than 2.00 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the holes are vertical and the widths reported are intercept length and are estimated to be approximately 60% to 70% of true width. Drill sections and a 3D model can be viewed at http://www.corebox.net/properties/ghanzi/or by following a link on the Company's website.
Drilling at Zone 6 is designed to test strike continuity along the north limb of a northeast trending syncline. Highlights from the RC drilling in Zone 6 include 1.5 %Cu over 5.5 meters true width within a wider zone of 0.93 %Cu over 12.0 meters. One of the holes, HA-01-R, was collared in barren hanging wall and terminated. Results for 12 other RC holes drilled along a 1.9 kilometer strike length in this zone are pending. Zone 6 is one of at least four anticline-syncline couplets identified across the license area.
RC drilling is currently focusing on Zone 5 approximately 30 kilometers south of Zone 6 where previous drilling by Anglo American returned 1.36 %Cu over 6.5 meters.
For details on current drilling activities refer to map www.hanamining.com/s/Ghanzi.asp?ReportID=303741).
Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Hana has implemented an industry-standard QA/QC program. Two samples of RC chips are collected at 1 meter intervals; one sample is archived and the other is split. Three meter composite samples from 3 successive intervals are collected from a split of each 1 meter interval. The composited sample is submitted for analysis and the half-split is reserved for more detailed 1 meter follow-up sampling and analysis of mineralized intervals. All samples are double bagged, sealed and transported in secured wooden crates and shipped to Scientific Services Laboratory in Cape Town, South Africa. Standards, blanks and duplicates are inserted into the sample stream.
