Posted on: Thursday, 17 July 2008, 09:01 CDT

EPV Solar, a thin-film solar module manufacturer and photovoltaic systems provider, has signed a long-term solar module supply agreement with City Solar, a developer, installer and operator of large-scale photovoltaic power plants.

The framework agreement allows City Solar to purchase 250MW of amorphous silicon modules over a period of five years. City Solar plans to use EPV modules to further execute its growth strategy in Europe. A first 2MW project with EPV modules will be realized in Germany before the end of 2008.

According to EPV Solar, to meet the project schedule, it has already begun to ship against this contract from its New Jersey manufacturing facility. Later in 2008, product will come from EPV Solar's new 30MW/year thin-film photovoltaic products manufacturing facility in Senftenberg, Germany which is scheduled to begin production in the fall of 2008.

Steffen Kammler, CEO of City Solar, said: "We have selected EPV Solar as our commercial partner because of their reliable, low cost amorphous silicon technology. We are confident that EPV Solar's photovoltaic modules will deliver exceptional performance and value for our customers."
