Hong Kong Airlines Selects IAE’s V2500 Engine to Power A319 Corporate Jet
Hong Kong Airlines has selected International Aero Engines’s V2500 unit to power its Airbus A319 corporate jet.
Pratt & Whitney, an aircraft engine manufacturer and a United Technologies company, is a major partner in International Aero Engines (IAE).
Hong Kong Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of the aircraft in September 2009. Hong Kong Airlines is a subsidiary of Hainan Airlines, which has also ordered the V2500 for 33 A320-family aircraft it has on firm order with Airbus.
The V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings ranging from 22,000lbs to 33,000lbs to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft, as well as the A319 corporate jet.
