Porter Airlines Increases Frequency to Newark
Canada-based Porter Airlines has announced that it will fly a full schedule of seven roundtrip flights every weekday between Toronto City Centre Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport as of September 3, 2008. In addition, Porter will operate three roundtrips on Saturdays and six on Sundays.
This year-round schedule is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through summer 2009. With 44 weekly roundtrip flights, this represents a 16% increase over Porter’s current schedule and a 10% increase compared to its inaugural March 31, 2008 schedule.
Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines, said: “Our continued efforts working with the FAA and other airlines have resulted in an even better schedule than we initially started with. We’re committed to the FAA’s wider goal of reducing air traffic congestion in the New York area and know this can be achieved even as we look to add flights over the next 12 months.”
