July 21, 2008
MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Gazprom chief Alexei Miller discussed the gas supply terms for Ukraine for 2009.
Starting from 2009, the gas price for Ukraine may exceed $400 per 1,000 cubic meters, Miller told journalists in late June.
“Currently, the Ukrainian gas price is $179 per 1,000 cubic meters. If this year agreements are reached with the Central Asian countries, based on average European gas prices, the gas price for Ukraine will be over $400,” he said.
Gazprom and Ukraine are planning to set up an ad hoc working group to prepare contracts, Miller added.
