Image Released in Hunt for Great Yorkshire Thief

DETECTIVES investigating the theft of Pounds 100,000 of equestrian jewellery from the Great Yorkshire Show have released this

efit image of a man wanted for questioning.

The jewellery was taken from a stall in the Rural Crafts Association Marquee at the end of the three-day event at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate on Thursday, July 10.

The man shown in the efit was seen near to the marquee immediately before the theft.

A smartly-dressed man and woman both wearing dark clothing and with dark hair and tanned complexions were spotted close to the marquee at about 6.30pm and inside the marquee at approximately 8pm.

About 2,140 items of jewellery were stolen, some unique to the owner. Most were of equestrian design in gold, white gold and platinum and are hallmarked RH.

The thief entered the marquee as stall-holders were packing away at about 8.15pm and took an olive-green and brown suedette trolley- style suitcase which contained the jewellery.
