Verizon Selects Actiontec’s Wireless Broadband Router

July 24, 2008

Verizon Communications has selected Actiontec Electronics’s next generation wireless broadband router to power its FiOS internet service.

According to Actiontec, its latest wireless broadband router can increase service speeds beyond 100Mbps.

Actiontec’s router claims to feature an advanced hardware design including a 64-bit, dual-core processor. The router’s 64-bit architecture provides a 10-15% performance improvement over the 32-bit standard deployed presently.

Dean Chang, CEO of Actiontec, said: “We’re proud that Verizon has again selected our equipment for their FiOS service and we look forward to continuing our partnership to give consumers faster speeds, greater entertainment and communication choices, and a consistently positive end user experience.”
