Indonesia unhappy with EU renewed ban on airlines

JAKARTA, July 25 (Xinhua) — The Indonesian government feels unhappy with renewed airlines ban by the European Union. Indonesia has followed the prevalent procedures for improving the airline industry.

“We have taken any steps for an improvement, but there is no responsive feedback,” the spokesman of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Teuku Faizasyah told reporters on Friday.

Based on the findings of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Indonesian airlines have improved up to the level of 60 percent. Therefore, the Indonesian government demands for more good responses.

“Since the ban (on Indonesian airlines) was effective, there has never been any initial consultation with the government of Indonesia,” he said.

On the side of feasibility, the Indonesian airlines industry has been standardized with a systematized improvement.

The European Union bans 51 Indonesian airlines since July 2007 due to the poor passenger protection system.
