US-based utility Columbia Gas of Ohio has stated that the Tiffin Street area of Fostoria, Ohio, will be among the first communities in the state to benefit from its $2 billion natural gas pipeline improvement project.
Beginning August 25, 2008, the company will replace about 10,500 feet of natural gas pipeline. This $720,000 project will replace existing steel pipe with specially designed plastic pipe.
The project will impact approximately 275 customers and will be completed by fall 2008. When the project is completed, the Tiffin Street area is expected to have access to a modern gas delivery system.
The upgrade work requires a temporary interruption of natural gas service. Columbia Gas has said that it will communicate with customers prior to shutting off service and before schedule service restoration.
