Vietnam, Chile agree to boost cooperative ties
HANOI, July 29 (Xinhua) — Vietnam and Chile will continue to expand cooperation on such spheres as trade, culture, tourism and science, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Tuesday.
Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the country’s top legislature, made the statement when receiving Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile Jorge Ulloa Aguillon in Hanoi capital on Monday.
For his part, Jorge Ulloa Aguillon affirmed that Chile attaches great importance to fostering multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in terms of trade.
Jorge Ulloa Aguillon said he hoped the two sides would soon make progress on negotiating the implementation of high-level agreements between the two countries, leading up to the signing of the Vietnam- Chile bilateral free trade agreement.
Also on Monday, Vietnamese Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong held talks with Jorge Ulloa Aguillon, during which the two sides agreed to boost exchange of information and experiences in legislative operations, and support their governments’ efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties in line with burgeoning political relations.
