Florida Public Utilities Signs As Platinum Sponsor of the Green Fair at Riverside Park

DeBary, Florida-based Florida Public Utilities (FPU), has signed on as a Platinum Sponsor of The Green Fair at Riverside Park, which is anticipated to be the largest green fair in Florida.

FPU supplies Central Florida with energy efficient and clean burning natural gas, which is getting a lot of media attention in these days of escalating energy costs and a strong Green movement. Natural gas is a greener alternative to electricity produced from oil, natural gas and coal, as it can reduce associated carbon dioxide emissions by 50 to 75 percent. At The Green Fair unearth the secrets of "green" at FPU's Energy for Life Pavilion and discover how to make your home eco-friendly with natural gas. Learn about going green, and if natural gas is available in your area to receive a free I Got Gas! t-shirt. FPU also provides $1,350.00 or more, in cash rebates for switching to new (residential) natural gas appliances. Visit FPU's Pavilion to discover the difference between energy conservation and energy efficiency, as well as their benefits. FPU is your partner in conserving energy for Florida's future today and tomorrow.

The Green Fair at Riverside Park will be held on September 6th and 7th, 2008 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The Fair will showcase innovative ideas relating the green industry, green household products, green building products, eco-friendly do-it-yourself home improvement products and projects, energy and water conservation products, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, biofuels, and other products and services relating to the alternative energy industry. In addition, there will be food, entertainment, children's activities, and artist's exhibits -- all in a fun, family fair atmosphere.

The Alternative Energy Association, Inc., a Florida-based non-profit, in partnership with the Utilities Commission, City of New Smyrna Beach, is co-hosting the Green Fair at Riverside Park.

Robert C. Hackney, Executive Director of the Alternative Energy Association, said, "New Smyrna Beach is known as a hub of artistic and cultural activity, and its convenient location between Orlando and the Daytona Beach-Jacksonville area make it a perfect place to draw a state-wide audience."
