BRIEF: Laclede Gas Reports Q3 Profit of $9.3 Million
By Jeffrey Tomich, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Aug. 1–Laclede Group Inc., the owner of Missouri’s largest natural gas utility, said fiscal third-quarter profit was unchanged.
Net income for the three months ended June 30 was $9.3 million, or 42 cents a share, St. Louis-based Laclede said in a statement. The company earned a penny a share more in the third quarter of 2007 because there were fewer shares outstanding.
Profit at Laclede Gas, which sells natural gas to more than 630,000 customers in and around St. Louis, increased more than six-fold to $5.5 million, following a rate increase that took effect a year ago, the company said.
