150 Megawatts of Electricity to Lebanon

Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis will meet during his current visit to Lebanon with Minister of Energy and Water Alain Tabourian. The meeting will take up the linkage project which includes Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Turkey. The project provides Lebanon with 150 megawatts of Egyptian electricity. In statements, Younis said Egypt is keen on supporting Lebanon in the energy field. The meeting will discuss ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the electricity domain, he said. The Minister will also visit electricity projects carried out by Egypt in Lebanon. During his visit to Beirut, Younis will take part in an Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA) meeting, to open on Monday. During the meeting, a new AAEA chief will be elected.
