Havertys July Comparable Store Sales Dip 10%

Haverty Furniture Companies has reported that comparable store sales decreased 10% for July 2008. Total sales for July 2008 decreased 7.3% to $62.9 million, compared with $67.8 million in July 2007.
Sales for the first seven months of 2008 decreased 6.6% to $416.5 million compared with $446 million in 2007.
On a comparable-store basis, sales decreased 9.5% for the first seven months, the company said.
