Aug. 5–The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority said Monday that it has received a clean bill of health from federal regulators.

According to a news release, the MKAA received a ranking of “No Deficiencies Noted” from the Federal Aviation Administration on an annual safety and certification inspection of McGhee Tyson Airport. The MKAA has received that ranking for six consecutive years.

The inspection includes an audit and examines a variety of issues including fueling operation regulations, safety compliance programs and runway and taxiway signage.

“The fact that our Operations Division and Public Safety Department have not only met the requirements to pass the inspection but to go six years without a noted deficiency is quite an accomplishment,” MKAA board chairman Richard Krieg said in the release.
