An Alstom-led consortium with Duro Felguera engineering group has been awarded a turnkey contract by Hc Energia, a subsidiary of the EDP-Energias de Portugal group, for the construction of a 400MW combined cycle power station in Soto de Ribera, in the Spanish province of Asturias.
Additionally, a long-term operation support and maintenance contract was awarded and both contracts represent a total value of E340 million.
Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will supply a fully integrated turnkey power plant, consisting of one single-shaft power train, integrating in-house core plant components including one GT26 gas turbine, one heat recovery steam generator, one steam turbine and one turbogenerator.
The new power plant represents the eighth GT26 power station constructed by Alstom in Spain and the fourth with Hc Energia. The Alstom GT26 combined-cycle power plant fleet in Spain now totals 4,800MW with this contract, including 3,600MW already in operation and 800MW under construction.
