Brussels Airlines has announced that it will optimize its revenue accounting processes using the Sirax AirFinance platform from Lufthansa Systems, a full-service IT provider for the airline and aviation sector.

Lufthansa Systems will implement the Sirax, SiraxCredit and the newly developed Sirax View modules at the airline and operate the system in its own data center.

The five-year contract between the two partners also covers the revenue accounting processes for airDC, the Congolese start-up airline set up by Brussels Airlines.

The Sirax revenue accounting solution was developed in co-operation with Lufthansa Revenue Services. The system controls and manages an airline’s revenue process by performing a fully automatic check of ticket sales against actual flight data. Integrated sub-processes also support the billing of interline flights between airlines.

Vanessa Rentiers, revenue accounting and credit control manager at Brussels Airlines, said: “The new system is intended to enhance the transparency of our accounting processes and contribute to reducing costs and increasing flexibility and data quality. After an extensive selection process, we chose Sirax from Lufthansa Systems because it is the perfect fit for our needs.”
