International Chemical Projects Totaling More Than $20 Billion to Start Construction in 1Q09, an Industrial Info News Alert

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Industrial Info has identified 80 international chemical projects that are scheduled to begin construction during the first quarter of 2009. The total investment value (TIV) of these projects adds up to $21.9 billion. Nine of the projects already have designated engineering and construction firms. One of the larger projects set to begin construction during the first quarter of 2009 is Sonatrach's (Hydra, Algeria) $2.4 billion fertilizer complex in Arzew, Algeria. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited (TYO:7011) (Minato, Tokyo) and Daewoo International Corporation (SEO:047050) (Seoul, South Korea) have been awarded contracts for the project.
