Power Machines Reports Completion of Renovation at Agios Dimitrios TPP
Russian power engineering company Power Machines has reported that the renovation of two 300MW power units at the Greek Public Power Corporation’s Agios Dimitrios thermal power plant in Greece is complete.
The contract for the modernization of the two power units at the Agios Dimitrios thermal power plant (TPP) was signed in 2006 by Power Machines in consortium with German engineering major Siemens. The total value of the contract amounted to E42 million, with Power Machines’s work valued at over E16 million.
Power Machines’s scope of work under the contract included the manufacture and supply of new steam turbine systems, and equipment for modernization of medium and low pressure cylinders for two steam turbines.
One of the two power units has been put into trial operation recently. Upon completion of the testing stage scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008 the power unit will be commissioned. This contract marks the first time Power Machines has modernized power generation units of such capacity in the European Union.
