Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, AAAE Celebrate 10-Year Training Partnership Milestone
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) are celebrating 10 years of partnering to ensure the airport’s employees have access to the latest airport training through the association’s onsite training offerings.
Hartsfield-Jackson–which helped pioneer AAAE’s onsite training initiative by becoming one of the first airports to offer regular courses at its facility–has long been an aviation industry leader in employee training and development, demonstrating a strong commitment to employee competence in the workplace. Its employees have several AAAE-provided training options available, including desktop training through AAAE’s award-winning, Web-based ANTN Digicast and customized, solution-driven onsite classroom training.
Hartsfield-Jackson’s training department and AAAE first teamed up in 1999 to offer onsite training courses at the airport, offering monthly instruction on a wide range of topics. The AAAE-Hartsfield-Jackson onsite partnership has delivered training to more than 1,000 Department of Aviation employees working at the airport.
“Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport realizes the importance of training its employees,” said Renita Kirkland, who is responsible for the AAAE training program at the airport. “The options AAAE provides are not only of the highest quality in nature but also are the most cost-effective ways to train our employees.”
Knowledgeable, expert instructors and customer service-driven AAAE staff allow the Hartsfield-Jackson training department to build long-term professional relationships as well as maintain its confidence in a proven and viable training solution. “AAAE has proven that it is an expert in all disciplines of airport/aviation management,” Kirkland added. “As a result, we continuously receive positive internal feedback about its services. This year, AAAE will conduct more than 30 onsite training sessions at Hartsfield-Jackson, covering a myriad of subjects that are essential to helping its airport employees pursue professional certifications as well as obtaining knowledge that enhances job performance.
Among the courses on Hartsfield’s onsite schedule for 2008 include the Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security Review Course, Aviation Security for Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) Training, and the AAAE Certified Member (C.M.) Review Courses offered weekly in two formats: accelerated and extended.
During this tenured, decade-long partnership, the courses offered at Hartsfield-Jackson have included: Basic and Advanced ACE Review Courses – (Airfield Lighting Maintenance, Operations and Security), Aviation Security for Law Enforcement Officers training, Aircraft Recovery Operations, Airport Emergency Response, Airport Finance, Airport Marketing, Airport Planning, Ground Transportation and Landside Management, Airport Law, Airport 101, Retail Concessions and Property Management, and Rates and Charges.
