Fuel Lorry Driver is Jailed for Woman’s Death in A46 Crash
A Petrol tanker driver who killed a woman motorist after having an epileptic fit at the wheel was today (fri) jailed for four years.
A court was told Andrew Mayhew failed to seek medical advice despite suffering a series of earlier blackouts while driving because he feared losing his licence and his job.
He crashed his 44-tonne tanker laden with 38,500 litres of petrol into a line of stationary traffic on the A46 Lincoln by-pass killing Becky Fogg, 24, of Hibaldstow, North Lincs.
News of his sentencing broke on www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk and www.thisisbrigg.co.uk
Mayhew, of Nozay Avenue, Broughton, was delivering the fuel to an ASDA supermarket when the tragedy happened in April last year.
