Smith’s hire comes as part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy slated for 2008, which included the earlier addition of executive and field level management positions.

As CFO for Mary’s Gone Crackers, Smith will focus on business and financial strategies to facilitate the company’s growth. With more than 25 years of finance experience, Smith has had consistent success in consumer and business product companies by increasing sales, implementing profit improvements and raising equity/debt capital. Smith most recently served as CFO for Charter Baking Company and honed his financial savvy at several multimillion-dollar consumer products companies, including JL Foods (HJ Heinz & John Labatt), Nancy’s Specialty Foods, Sensient Technologies Corporation and more. Smith also served as president and co-owner of Dakota Brands International, a consumer products start-up company. He maintains a private business consultant practice in Boulder, Colo., and will continue working with a select group of clients.
