Mary’s Gone Crackers Adds Paul Smith As Chief Financial Officer to Executive Team

August 13, 2008

Mary’s Gone Crackers, makers of award-winning gourmet gluten-free foods, today announced the addition of Chief Financial Officer Paul Smith to the company’s executive team. Smith’s hire comes as part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy slated for 2008, which included the earlier addition of executive and field level management positions.

“We were originally looking to hire a controller, but when we realized Paul Smith was interested in joining our team as our CFO, it became a very easy decision,” said Dale Rodrigues, president and CEO of Mary’s Gone Crackers. “Paul brings a rock-solid wealth of experience and financial expertise to Mary’s Gone Crackers, and has already provided strong leadership and clear direction to our financial team. With Paul’s addition, Mary’s Gone Crackers continues to build its first-class team by bringing in some of the most successful and respected individuals in the industry. I think Paul is very competitive, and will fit nicely into our winning culture. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome him on board!”

As CFO for Mary’s Gone Crackers, Smith will focus on business and financial strategies to facilitate the company’s growth. With more than 25 years of finance experience, Smith has had consistent success in consumer and business product companies by increasing sales, implementing profit improvements and raising equity/debt capital. Smith most recently served as CFO for Charter Baking Company and honed his financial savvy at several multimillion-dollar consumer products companies, including JL Foods (HJ Heinz & John Labatt), Nancy’s Specialty Foods, Sensient Technologies Corporation and more. Smith also served as president and co-owner of Dakota Brands International, a consumer products start-up company. He maintains a private business consultant practice in Boulder, Colo., and will continue working with a select group of clients.

“Mary’s Gone Crackers is an innovative company poised for significant growth,” said Smith. “I feel fortunate to be joining the company at this pivotal time and am confident that I can help streamline its path for financial success.”
