VMS Expands Copper-Rich Mineralization With an Additional Nine Drill Holes at Its Reed Lake Discovery Zone at Snow Lake, Manitoba
Posted on: Thursday, 14 August 2008, 06:00 CDT
VMS Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: VMS) (the "Company") continues to expand its copper-rich Discovery Zone at Snow Lake. The mineralization has been identified in a total of 39 drill holes and has been intersected in the last 16 consecutive drill holes. The geometry and total strike length of the mineralized zone are currently unknown, however significant continuity is demonstrated by drill results.
Diamond Drill Highlights Include:
RD-08-61: 119.37m (391.62ft) of Near Solid Sulphide (NSS) and Sulphide Veinlets
RD-08-65: 108.27m (355.21ft) of NSS and Sulphide Veinlets
RD-08-58: 25.81m (84.68ft) of NSS
RD-08-59: 25.35m (83.17ft) of NSS and Sulphide Veinlets

The current drill plan will develop a cross section of the mineralized zone by fanning two or three drill holes oriented perpendicular to the apparent strike of the zone from each collar location. The cross sections constructed to date indicate good vertical and lateral continuity and suggest the mineralization is open to depth. The dip appears to be sub-vertical with a northerly bias. The strike has an apparent azimuth of 260 degrees, slightly south of due west.
Concurrent with the drilling, borehole geophysical surveys are underway to identify anomalies that represent extensions of mineralization.
Analytical data from soil geochemical surveys undertaken in the Discovery Zone-Tower Zone areas have recently been received and interpretation is ongoing.
