The current generation is made up primarily of fossil fuel sources, with nuclear energy supplying 1,266 MW. Mississippi's sole nuclear power generating facility is the Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Station (Port Gibson, Mississippi), owned by a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation (NYSE:ETR) (New Orleans, Louisiana). Currently, the Grand Gulf Station is considering adding additional generating capacity, while other developers are considering the installation of biomass and hydroelectric power generating facilities.
