The Growth of CEZ’s Profit is Indefencible
CEZ (Czech Republic), semi-state power group, increased its net profit by 38% to CEK 29 bil during 1H 2008 compared to 1H 2007. The result was CEK 3 bil higher compared to the estimates of analysts. CEZ saw a higher profit for 1H 2008 than for all 2006 and strengthened its position of the most profitable Czech firm. The second most profitable firm in the Czech Republic is the automotive company Skoda Auto (SA) (Czech Republic), which decreased its profit by 10% to CEK 7.1 bil during 1H 2008 compared to 1H 2007. CEZ has the majority of customers in the Czech Republic unlike SA and the strenghtening Czech crown has not so big negative influence over its profit.
