Attacked in Bed By Masked Raiders

MASKED thieves broke into a man's home and attacked him while he slept in his bed, police said.

Kenneth Britton, 46, was seriously assaulted about 4amon Saturday at home in theWestra area of Dinas Powys, South Wales.

The three intruders made off with a Rolex watch, valuable gold jewellery and a company cheque card.

Detective Sergeant Rob Davidson, of Barry CID, said Mr Britton was subjected to a "terrible ordeal" and appealed for anyone with information about it to come forward.

"This assault and burglary was very nasty and unprovoked," he said.

"A number of very valuable jewellery items were taken including a distinctive Rolex Daytona wrist watch, a nine carat gold gent's bracelet, a heavy gold chain necklace, a fivediamond ring, a gold puzzle ring which has been soldered as well as a company cheque card in the name of Britton Brothers Ltd."
