Russian Company Completes Repairs in Ukraine’s Chernobyl

Moscow, 22 August: The [Russian] company Atomstroyeksport has said in a press release it has completed all works aimed at improving safety at the Shelter facility at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
It completed repairs on the light roof over the central hall of generating set No 4, which had been destroyed in 1986, in early August, one month ahead of schedule.
Atomstroyeksport is one of the leading companies building nuclear power plants abroad. In 2007, it built and put into operation two nuclear reactors in China, more than 1GW each, and is now completing the construction of one reactor at a nuclear power plant in Iran and two reactors in India. It is managed by companies within the state- run corporation Rosatom.
