Synfuels International Awarded Patent for Liquid Phase Hydrogenation
DALLAS, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 5, 2008, the United States Patent Office issued patent number 7,408,091, Process for Liquid Phase Hydrogenation, to Dallas-based Synfuels International. The revolutionary Synfuels technology, discovered at Texas A&M University and commercialized by Synfuels International, allows the natural gas industry to take a giant leap forward in process efficiency. Synfuels GTL & GTE processes are also designed to be located upstream, in the field where gas can be converted efficiently, at its source, into an easily transportable gasoline product or an ethylene based product supplying local and global product needs.
"The critical and unique component of the Synfuels GTE and GTL processes which gives Synfuels its economic advantage is our Liquid Phase Hydrogenation," stated Tom Rolfe, President of Synfuels International. "No one else in the world comes close to the elegance of our design and the efficiency of its operation. We could not be more pleased that we have received this patent which both recognizes and protects our unique design."
Rolfe continued, "As the natural gas industry moves forward to meet the growing demands of a worldwide economy, the Synfuels technology will not only allow us to reduce negative environmental impacts of flaring or venting gas, but will allow us to unlock large quantities of previously non-commercial natural gas resources while stimulating the local economies wherever this gas exists."
