Entergy Names Agresta New Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Enexus Energy Corporation
NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- As actions continue toward gaining regulatory approval for the planned spin-off of non-utility nuclear assets, Entergy Corporation has named Steven Agresta executive vice president, general counsel and chief legal officer for the spin-off company, Enexus Energy Corporation.
Agresta comes to Enexus from the Energy Group at Alston & Bird, LLP of Washington, D.C., where he was the Group's leader. There he represented foreign and domestic utility companies on a variety of issues, including the financial consequences of nuclear construction and operation, deregulation of electric markets, power marketing and generation, mergers and acquisition, and other matters.
Previously, he was a founding partner of the Washington, D.C., law firm Swidler Berlin. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master's degree in economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a National Science Foundation Fellow and Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and his juris doctor magna cum laude at Harvard Law School, where he was a senior editor of the Harvard Law Review. He clerked for the Honorable Joseph T. Sneed III on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Enexus will be headquartered in Jackson, Miss. and will own six wholesale reactors that are part of Entergy's 11-reactor fleet, including Vermont Yankee in Vernon, Vt.; Pilgrim Station in Plymouth, Mass.; the James A. FitzPatrick plant near Oswego, N.Y.; the Palisades plant in Covert, Mich., and two reactors at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, N.Y.
