Man Was Viciously Attacked While Sleeping in His Bed
POLICE have released pictures of the injuries suffered by a Vale of Glamorgan man attacked in his bed by burglars.
Kenneth Britton, 46, was seriously assaulted about 4am on Saturday, after three raiders broke into his home in the Westra area of Dinas Powys.
The intruders made off with a Rolex watch, valuable gold jewellery and a company cheque card.
Detective Sergeant Rob Davidson of Barry CID said Mr Britton was subjected to a “terrible ordeal”.
Police have renewed their appeals for anyone with information about the burglary to come forward.
“This assault and burglary was very nasty and unprovoked,” said Det Sgt Davidson.
“A number of very valuable jewellery items were taken during the incident, including a distinctive Rolex Daytona wrist watch, a nine- carat gold gent’s bracelet, a heavy gold chain necklace, a fivediamond ring, a gold puzzle ring which has been soldered together, as well as a company cheque card in the name of Britton Brothers.”
“While it was a particularly nasty assault, I would like to reassure the public that incidents such as this are extremely rare in the Vale of Glamorgan,” he added.
If you have any information on this crime or any of the stolen items, contact Barry CID on 01446 731 606 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
