Text of report by private Azerbaijani news agency Turan
Baku, 25 August: The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main oil export pipeline has already resumed operation, the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) has told Turan.
In addition, the AIOC has increased oil production from the Azari- Ciraq-Gunasli (ACG) deposit in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and brought the volumes to normal.
We should say that the normal regime for the pipeline prior to the stoppage was 800,000-900,000 barrels a day. However, it was suspended in connection with the fire in the Turkish sector of the BTC on 6 August. Since 20 August small volumes of crude have been pumped through the BTC in order to test the damaged section.
Moreover, gas extraction from the gas condensate deposit of Sah Daniz has also been brought to normal, BP, the operator of both projects, said.
