The China National Petroleum Company has announced that it delivered 170 million cubic meters of natural gas to Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games.
Besides gas supply to the Olympic cauldron, all the natural gas used by restaurants in the Olympic village, hundreds of hotels and restaurants who signed contracts with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games, and other public facilities for the reception of visitors has been provided by the China National Petroleum Company (CNPC) through the two Shaan-Jing gas pipelines.
Since there was no emergency situation at the 2008 Olympics, natural gas in the six Dagang underground gas storages remained unemployed. CNPC said that it will continue to supply natural gas for the 2008 Special Olympics.
