Delta Announces Schedule Changes Between New York and Dominican Republic

August 27, 2008

Delta Air Lines has announced a schedule change for flights connecting New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport to Santo Domingo and Santiago in the Dominican Republic. The two routes will operate on Saturdays, starting December 13, 2008.

The airline currently offers daily non-stop service between New York-John F Kennedy Airport, and Santo Domingo and Santiago. These flights will be temporarily suspended in mid-September 2008, and will return as a weekly service in December 2008.

In December 2008, Delta will also begin non-stop service between Atlanta and Santiago. These flights complement Delta’s current non-stop service connecting the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata.

Christophe Didier, vice president for sales and government affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean at Delta, said: “Delta is responding to the needs of the growing Dominican population in New York City, especially during the holiday season when so many of our valued customers fly home to visit friends and family.”
